New Delhi: Majestic Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s wife Prithi Narayanan is always witnessed supporting her husband through thick and thins of his cricketing journey. Whether be it her presence in the stands during a match or showing support on social media, Prithi never stays away from encouragement Ashwin for his professional assignments.
On Saturday, she posted a special message for Ashwin ahead of the start of the Test series against Bangladesh. India take on Bangladesh in the first Test match on September 19 in Chennai. Before the match, the BCCI has organised a pre-series camp for the cricketers at the same venue. Prithi took to social media platform Instagram and posted a picture of Ashwin in India’s training jersey on her story.
The caption along with the picture of the veteran India spinner read – “Chennai, Test match feelings are coming. Right?” As soon as she posted the message, it became a shit amongst the fans with people praising her sweet gesture towards her husband. Read the message here.
Team India begins preparations
Meanwhile Rohit Sharma-led Team Indian began the preparations for the upcoming Test series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday. The India team members had arrived in the city on Thursday while star batter Virat Kohli arrived in Chennai on Friday morning. This will be India’s first Test series under head coach Gautam Gambhir and his new support staff which includes Proteas pace Morne Morkel joining in as bowling coach.
“The countdown starts as #TeamIndia begin their preps for an exciting home season,” wrote the BCCI on its ‘X’ account while sharing the team huddle pictures.
India will have to tackle an in-form Bangladesh side who will be flying high after their stupendous series win over Pakistan at their home turf. This series means a lot for both the sides as it will be crucial for the World Test Championship points.
