New Delhi: A fantastic game at Villa Park eventually ended with both Aston Villa and Liverpool sharing the points. Aston Villa ended the first half by taking the lead with a late burst of activity. Initially, Liverpool emerged from a cagey affair in a fairly fortunate way. In the 29th minute of the game, Axel Disasi passed it to Garcia at right-back after Liverpool’s high press started to look much more threatening. Garcia then made the error of passing it to Diogo Jota who managed to steal the ball and play it to Salah. The Egyptian scored his 24th goal in the Premier League this season with the simplest finish as Jota drove on and squared it for him.
After Rashford’s left-wing free-kick was mishandled, the home team managed to keep the ball alive. Liverpool failed to clear the ball and Tielemans hit the turf and powered into the right of Alisson’s goal to restore parity for the hosts. Villa gradually increased the ante as the first half wore on. Ten minutes after their equalizer, Emery’s team pushed hard in stoppage time, and despite McGinn’s alleged handball, Digne’s excellent cross for Watkins to head into the bottom-right corner was indefensible.

Liverpool saved a point in second half
Early into the second half, Liverpool survived a major scare when Alisson somehow dodged out of his goal as Rashford chased a pass down the left. Konate headed behind after the United loanee brilliantly lifted the ball over the Brazilian keeper and attempted a lob from the angle close to the left byline. After a beautiful touch on the box’s edge sends his marking Villa players in the opposite direction, Jota attempted a shot from the right to the top-left, but it hit the bar and went behind.
However, just a minute after Liverpool had struck the bar, Trent Alexander-Arnold managed to get them levelled in the 62st minute of the game when his low shot hit the bottom-left corner of Villa’s goal. The visitors had a golden opportunity to go in front when Szoboszlai squared for Darwin Nunez after their break, but he blasted over the top from a few yards out while Disasi desperately tracked back.
Late in the day, Donyell Malen just couldn’t win all thre points for Villa but came extremely close. The Dutch winger glided away from the flailing legs with a fantastic low strike. The ball pinged off the base of the left post while Alisson was fully stretched. It remained 2-2 in the end as Villa remain ninth in the table while Liverpool stay top with eight points lead.
It remained all square at Villa Park as Liverpool and Aston Villa ended the game 2-2 after some heart-fought battle between the two sides. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
