New Delhi: Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja proved to be the torchbearers for the Indian team on the first day of the first Test match against Bangladesh in Chennai. The duo, with their miraculous individual knocks, scripted a massive partnership record in the Test format against Bangladesh.
The pair of Ashwin and Jadeja registered the highest partnership for 7th wicket or below for India against Bangladesh in Test cricket, surpassing 133-run stand between legendary Sachin Tendulkar and left-arm pacer Zaheer Khan for the 10th wicket in Dhaka in 2004. They also registered a record for the highest seventh-wicket partnership at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai after crossing 153-run stand.
