Bangladesh batted first in the opening match of the series and scored 127 runs in 19.5 overs. Indian bowlers did a fantastic job and took wickets at regular intervals. Mehidy Hasan Miraz batted well and scored an unbeaten 35 runs off 32 balls. Chasing the 128-run target, Openers Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson provided a great start to the Men in Blue.
Abhishek got run out on 17 runs after a mix-up but Suryakumar and Sanju batted brilliantly and continued the attack on Bangladeshi bowlers. They stitched a 40-run partnership for the second wicket. Mustafizur Rahman removed Suryakumar on 29 runs but Hardik Pandya and Nitish Reddy’s 52-run partnership took the team over the line in just 11.5 overs.
