New Delhi: As we wait for the International break to conclude, the Premier League has given the fans something to be excited about. September’s award winners have been announced by the league. Earlier in the month, the Premier League had announced it’s nominees for the EA Sports Player of the Month, Barclays Manager of the Month and the Guinness Goal of the Month.
We haven’t seen any repeat winners from the last month and all the winners in these three categories are winning it for the first time in this campaign. Brighton’s new manager, Fabian Hürzeler won the manager of the month for August but wasn’t nominated this time. The same was the case with Erling Haaland, who won it in the last month but wasn’t nominated for September. Cole Palmer, who won the goal of the month for August was the only repeat nominee as he was amongst this month’s nominees as well.

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer has been voted by the fans as September’s Player of the Month. The award follows on the tails of Palmer being named England’s Player of Month and caps off a good period for the youngster. The 22-year-old wins his second Player of the Month award, winning his first earlier in the year in April 2024. Palmer came out of top of seven other nominees following the combination of fan votes with those of experts.
Palmer had a brilliant September and ended the month with five goals and one assist in just four appearances. He started it off with an assist against Crystal Palace on the first day of the month. That was followed up with a goal against West Ham post the International break before he completely ripped apart Brighton with four goals in the span of 21 minutes. Palmer beat out other nominees like Harvey Barnes, Dwight McNeil, Luis Diaz, Gabriel, Ryan Gravenberch, Raul Jimenez, and Ollie Watkins.

Chelsea completed a double swoop for September’s individual awards as manager Enzo Maresca has been named as the Manager of the Month for September. The Italian has managed to win the award in just his second month as a Premier League manager after leading the Blues to an unbeaten month. He picked up 10 points out of a possible 12 in September, more than anyone else in the league.
With this win, Maresca becomes the first Chelsea manager to win the award since Thomas Tuchel did so back in October 2021. Maresca defeated the likes of Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Aston Villa’s Unai Emery, Fulham’s Marco Silva, and Liverpool’s Arne Slot to win the accolade. He led his team to score more goals than anyone else in September and has them sitting fourth in the league table after most of the public expected him to struggle at the club.
Guinness Goal of the Month
What. A. Strike. 🤤

We saw a lot of spectacular strikes in September but Jhon Duran’s exceptional winner against Everton was voted as the Goal of the Month. Duran has made a habit of coming off the bench and scoring winners for his side but the goal against Everton was probably the best one the 20-year-old would’ve scored till now. The striker has had a blistering start to the season and already looks like he has the potential to become one of the best strikers in the world.
His goal against Everton seemed to shock his teammates as well with both Emi Martinez and Youri Tielemans were seen to be looking on in disbelief after the long-range strike went in. He becomes the first Villa player to win the award since Danny Ings in 2021. Duran beat out some other brilliant efforts like Cole Palmer’s freekick against Brighton, Barnes’ strike from just outside the box against Wolves, Bryan Mbeumo effort against Spurs, Darwin Nunez’s brilliant strike against Bournemouth, Riccardo Calafiori’s first goal for Arsenal against Manchester City, McNeil’s winner against Palace and James Justin’s second strike against Arsenal.
The Premier League has announced it’s winners for the Manager and the Goal of the month while fans have voted for their EA Sports Player of the Month. Dive in to find out who the winners are! Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
