New Delhi: It was embarrassment for Team India on the second day of the first Test match against New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday as they registered their lowest team total in an Test innings at home. A hapless Indian team was bowled out for a paltry 46 runs in 31.2 overs in the second session of play, on a wicket which proved too hot for the hosts.

This was the third lowest total for India in Tests, with the lowest one being 36 against Australia in 2020. The Rohit Sharma-led side thus surpassed their previous lowest home total of 75 runs registered against the West Indies in Delhi back in 1987.

Only opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (13) and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant (20) were able to push their scores in double digit while rest of the team was out on single digit score, with as many as five batters registering ducks, including biggies like Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.
