Mark Henry rebuffs recent team-up of Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, here’s the reason

New Delhi: Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry feels that the scheduled Bad Blood Premium Live Event match of Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes against The Bloodline would witness a shocking ending. The reaction came after this week’s episode of SmackDown where Reigns helped Rhodes fend off the attack by The Bloodline after Rhodes defeated Solo Sikoa in a steel cage match.

In the last segment of the show, Reigns and Rhodes unwillingly signed a contract to team up and take on Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at the Bad Blood in a tag team match. Henry, who keeps track of all the major events happening in the company, gave his take on the newly formed partnership between The American Nightmare and The Original Tribal Chief.

In a recent edition of the Busted Open podcast, Henry said that he does not believe Rhodes and Reigns could work together as a tag team. He also went on to say that a shocking ending to the match might be on the cards which will surprise the fans. According to him, the two won’t help each other during their bout at the Bad Blood which could lead them to a loss.

“I think it’s good, I don’t think they’re going to work good together as a tag team because once one (of them) is in, he’s going to try to finish it. You know like, Cody’s going to try to finish it on his own. Roman’s getting in, the last thing he’s going to do is tag Cody in to help him. So that’s gonna be the demise of their being in a tag team,” Henry said as quoted by Sportskeeda Wrestling.

What happened at the SmackDown?

When Rhodes was taking on Sikoa for The Undisputed WWE Championship, Reigns made a surprise entry and helped his rival defeat the new bloodline in the steel cage match. Soon after the match, SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis announced a tag team match for the upcoming WWE Bad Blood event. He requested Sikoa and Fatu to take on Reigns and Rhodes in a tag team match.

Sikoa and Fatu were the first to sign the contract but Rhodes didn’t initially give in saying that he has no intention to start a battle against the new Bloodline and that he was done with them a long time back. Aldis went backstage to discuss the plans with Reigns who said that he doesn’t need any help from Rhodes to beat the new group.

Afterward, Sikoa and Fatu attacked Reigns from the back at ringside and that is when Rhodes arrived at his rescue to help him fight the two. Reigns then picked up the contract and signed after which Rhodes too signed it. Thus, it became official that Rhodes and Reigns would take on Sikoa and Fatu at the WWE Bad Blood in a tag team match.
