India vs South Africa T20I series: Head-to-head, squads, and key stats

New Delhi: After being blanked by New Zealand 0-3 in the home Test series, the focus for Team India now shifts to the T20 format. The T20I squad is practising hard ahead of the 4-match series against South Africa beginning with the first game on November 8, Friday at Kingsmead Durban. The Suryakumar Yadav-led side would be keen on continuing their superb run in the shortest format, where they have been exceptional this year.

After clinching the T20 World Cup 2024, India thrashed Zimbabwe 4-1 in the T20I series and followed it up by beating Sri Lanka 3-nil in another T20I series. India’s last T20I encounter was against Zimbabwe, where they emerged victorious clinching victories in both the games. This will be the first meeting of both the teams since the Men in Blue thrashed the Proteas in T20 World Cup final.

South Africa to avenge loss

While India will aim to continue their seamless run in the shortest format, for the Proteas, it will be an opportunity for the Proteas to avenge their loss suffered against the Indian team in the T20 World Cup 2024. Since the showpiece event, the Proteas have been struggling big time as they went down against the West Indies 0-3 and later managed a 1-1 result against Ireland.
