New Delhi: Mallika Sagar will return as the auctioneer of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. Mallika has been named as the auctioneer for the IPL 2025 mega-auction scheduled to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25.
Mallika conducted the IPL 2024 auction that took place in December 2023 in Kochi. The 49-year-old replaced Hugh Edmeades as the IPL auctioneer at the 2024 mini-auctions after conducting the Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction.
Mallika has served as an auctioneer at the Pro Kabaddi League. She is the first woman to conduct the auctions for PKL and the IPL.
Who is Mallika Sagar?
An art collector, Mallika is a consultant to Modern and Contemporary Indian art and serves as a partner with the Art India consultant firm. She is an experienced auctioneer having conducted auctions with Pundoles art gallery in Mumbai. Besides conducting the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) players’ auction in 2021 she has been an auctioneer at Women’s Premier League.
Mallika rose to fame in 2001 when she became the first woman auctioneer of Indian Origin at Christie’s – the iconic British auction house.

The IPL 2025 mega-auction, which will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25, is set to witness multiple bidding wars. With star players such as Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Ishan Kishan among many other big names up for grabs, franchises are all set to break the bank in the two-day mega-event.
Ahead of the auction, franchises retained a total of 46 players. A total of 204 slots will be filled at the mega-auction and a mammoth Rs 641.5 crores could be spent on the biggest and best talents of world cricket. A total of 1574 players have registered for the mega-auction. Punjab Kings, who have retained just two players – Prabhsimran Singh, and Shashank Singh – boast the biggest purse with Rs 110.5 crores.
The IPL 2025 mega-auction will kick off at 12.30 PM local time and 3 PM IST.
