New Delhi: The Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight was trending globally but what went viral after the fight was the ‘ring girl’ in the bout. Sydney Thomas was one of the ring girls in the fight between Paul vs Tyson. Sydney was also present in the weigh-ins of Paul and Tyson’s fight.
Sydney is just a 20-year-old model, she is still at the University of Alabama. She received so much positive response on her social media after the bout. There were five ring girls in the fight including Sydney.
After being overwhelmed by fame, Sydney replied as she thanked everyone for their love and support towards her and also was honored to be part of the historic night. She also felt pride in sharing the ring with Tyson and Paul as she never imagined that before.
“Words can’t describe this moment or how grateful I am to be part of such an amazing team at most valuable promotions. History was made, and I’m truly honored to have been a part of it.” Sydney added.
Sydney made her ring-girl debut just four weeks before the super fight. She was seen in Puerto Rico as the ring girl. Other ring girls’ names were Lexi Williams, Raphaela Milagres, Virginia Sanhouse, and Delia Sylvain.
Netflix also announced that 60 million users watched the fight live and they generated approximately $17.8 million from ticket sales. It was also one of the biggest boxing events as 72,300 fans watched the fight inside the arena.
How much does Jake Paul and Mike Tyson earn?
Netflix didn’t disclose any amount to any of the fighters but according to some reports, Paul generated around $40 million for his ring appearance and Tyson made $20 million for the same. This is just their ring presence amount as they generated bonuses and other sources as well.
It wasn’t the biggest purse in boxing history as in 2017 UFC star Conor McGregor fought against Floyd Mayweather and McGregor took home $30 million and Mayweather generated around $100 million.
