New Delhi: Amid growing tensions with respect to the Champions Trophy 2025, Indian cricket team has withdrawn from Blind T20 World Cup in Pakistan after government denied permission to travel to the neighbouring nation. According to a report published in India Today, the Blind team got a No-objection certificate (NOC) from the Sports Ministry and were awaiting a clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
The report further mentions that the Ministry did not give them permission to travel across the border and told them to pull out from the event which is being staged in Pakistan from November 23 to December 3, 2024. The Indian Blind Cricket Association (IBCA) has not got any official written letter from the MEA and have been just told verbally about the canceling the event.

India fourth team to not take part
Apart from India, England, Australia and New Zealand will also not take part in the tournament due to varied reasons. The decision comes few days after the Indian government denied permission to the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) for letting the Indian cricket team travel across the border for the Champions Trophy 2025.
India are the defending champions of the Blind T20 World Cup, having emerged victorious all the three previous editions of the tournament held in 2012, 2017 and 2022 respectively.
