New Delhi: Oil marketing companies are implementing e-KYC Aadhaar authentication to combat fraudulent LPG connections. Government has made Biometric identification linked to Aadhaar mandatory for new LPG connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Additionally, linking existing LPG connections with Aadhaar is required to avail LPG subsidies.
No Deadline for Aadhaar Authentication
While Aadhaar authentication (e-KYC) is mandatory, there is currently no specified deadline for LPG customers to complete this process, as clarified by Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. However, to avoid any issues in future, you must link your Aadhaar with LPG Connection
LPG e-KYC process
You can complete your LPG e-KYC in the following ways:
1. Via Oil Company’s Mobile App: Use your oil company’s mobile app to initiate and complete the Aadhaar authentication process.
2. Visit Gas Distributor’s Office: Visit your gas distributor’s office to provide your Aadhaar information for authentication.
3. During LPG Cylinder Delivery: The person delivering your LPG cylinder can collect your Aadhaar information, send an OTP to your registered mobile number, and complete the e-KYC process on the spot.
Online Procedure for Linking Aadhaar with LPG
If you prefer to link your Aadhaar with LPG online, follow these steps:
1. Visit the Website: Go to https://rasf.uidai.gov.in/seeding/User/ResidentSelfSeedingpds.aspx and enter the required details.
2. Select Benefit Type and Scheme Name: Choose ‘LPG’ under Benefit Type and select your specific LPG scheme (e.g., IOCL for Indane connections).
3. Choose Distributor and Enter Details: Select your distributor from the list provided and enter your LPG consumer number.
4. Provide Contact Information: Fill in your mobile number, email ID, and Aadhaar number. Click ‘Submit’.
5. Verify OTP: You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number and email. Enter this OTP to finalize the process.
6. Verification and Confirmation: After submission, your details will be verified by authorized officials. You will receive a confirmation notification on your registered mobile number and email upon successful verification.
