New Delhi: Mahendra Singh Dhoni, better known as MS Dhoni, turned 43 on July 7 and celebrated his birthday with his wife Sakshi Singh and close friends as he cut a beautiful cake, the video of which was shared by Sakshi on her Instagram handle. MSD even invited the friends who cheered for him to join him as he cut the cake and the video got highlighted due to what Sakshi did next, which won the netizens’ hearts.
The celebratory video went viral in no time as die-heart Dhoni fans continuously reposted it. In the video, after cutting the cake, Dhoni funnily asked, “Aao bhai kaun kaun khayega?” (Who’s gonna have it?) as he took out a piece for his wife and the couple shared a few bites. Sakshi soon bowed down to touch his husband’s feet, seeking his blessings and Dhoni did so by raising his hand amusingly.
For those unversed, touching someone’s feet is a long-held Indian tradition to showcase one’s respect towards someone elder and seek his/her blessings.

Dhoni’s birthday is nothing short of a festival for Indian cricket fans as they truly understand the valuable contribution he made to Indian cricket and improved its standards on the global stage. From achieving overseas victories to clinching all three major ICC trophies as the skipper, Dhoni is a once-in-a-generation cricketer, who has although retired from international cricket, but continues to play the league counterpart.
The Indian cricket stalwart always arrives to a grand reception wherever he makes his way in the country which is a testament to the respect Indians have for him.
Birthday gift already received
Although MSD’s birthday happens to be on July 7, this year he already received his birthday present in advance. It is well-known that Dhoni isn’t a social media enthusiast and posts just once or hardly twice in a year. Team India’s recent T20 World Cup 2024 win compelled the former Indian skipper to write a few congratulatory words for his juniors, with some of whom he used to share the field.
It was India’s second T20 World Cup triumph that came under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, ending the 11-year-old ICC trophy drought. India had won its first T20 World Cup in the inaugural edition of the ICC event back in 2007 where MSD led the team to glory. Not being able to control his excitement over India’s win, Dhoni posted a picture of Team India’s trophy lift along with a caption that he ended with, “arreeee thanks for the priceless birthday gift.”
MS Dhoni celebrated his 43rd birthday with wife Sakshi Singh and close friends as he cut his birthday cake and also invited the rest to join him before Sakshi made a touching gesture which is winning hearts on the internet.
