Accenture Q4 result: IT bellwether outperforms! What it means for Indian tech giants

New Delhi: American consulting giant Accenture reported a 24 per cent jump in earnings per quarter to $2.66 in Q4FY24, as its revenue rose 3 per cent in dollar terms to $16.4 billion. Accenture announced a dividend of $1.48 per share apart from a share buyback of $4 billion. Accenture’s Fy24 sales rose 3 per cent in US dollar terms to $16.41 billion compared to analysts’ estimates of $16.39 billion.

The company’s bookings in FY24 rose to $81 billion. It inked nearly 125 client deals worth over $100 million. Accenture received generative AI projects worth $3 billion and 310 major clients, said Accenture CEO Jule Sweet. The IT giant, based in Dublin, Ireland, gave FY25 revenue guidance of $16.85-17.45 billion, up 2-6 per cent in local currency terms. Accenture expects EPS to rise by 10-13 per cent to $12.55-12.91 in 2025.

To be sure, IT sector growth is expected to remain slower than expected in the upcoming quarters, Morgan Stanley said in a report. Indian IT bellwether TCS also exercised caution on forecasts for the coming quarters saying that it was “too early” to make such a forecast, Reuters reported.

Morgan Stanley raised concerns about the shift in Accenture’s primary promotion date to June from December, stating that it raised concerns regarding recovery in the near term, Reuters reported. Indian IT stocks may open in green on Friday.
