New Delhi: In a major announcement on social media platform X, business tycoon Gautam Adani pledged to invest $10 billion in energy and infrastructure projects in the US, close on the heels of Donald Trump’s win in the US presidential polls. He congratulated Trump in the social media post while announcing that his group’s investment is expected to create 15,000 jobs in the US.

Adani hosts European ambassadors
Adani has been in an outreach mode in recent weeks. On November 12, 2024, the Adani Group chairman posted a series of photos with the EU, German, Danish and Belgian ambassadors. The diplomats were touring Adani Group’s renewable energy facilities in Gujarat which included the world’s largest renewable energy park at Khavda, Gujarat, which has a 30GW energy capacity. Kahvda includes wind and solar energy projects which cover an area that is 5 times the size of the city of Paris. The diplomats also received a tour of the multi-modal Mundra Port operated by Adani Ports and SEZ.

Adani Group’s RE plans
The Mundra Port also housed factories for the production of photovoltaic panels and wind turbines as part of the ports to retail conglomerate’s aim to create 45 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. This is in line with India’s decarbonisation goals. Adani Group is also planning to ramp up green hydrogen production, Adani told the diplomats present during the facility tour.
