Washington: After gunshots were allegedly fired in the vicinity of former US President and Republican US Presidential Candidate Donald Trump at the Trump International Golf Club in Florida’s West Palm Beach, his son Donald Trump Junior has suspected it to be the second assassination attempt after Pennsylvania. In his post on X, Trump Junior shared the information saying “Again Folks”. It is claimed that Donald Trump was at the Gold Club and playing golf when the firing incident occurred. However, it is not clear whether it was an attack on Trump.
Trump’s campaign chief and the Secret Service on Sunday said that Donald Trump was safe after gunshots were reported in his vicinity Sunday afternoon in Florida. However, they said that it was not immediately clear whether the reported shots were targeted at the Republican presidential nominee.
It is said that Trump returned to Florida this weekend from a West Coast swing that included a Friday night rally in Las Vegas and a Utah fundraiser. No injuries were reported, according to a spokesperson for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in Florida.
The US Secret Service said it was investigating and that the incident occurred shortly before 2 pm. “The former president is safe,” according to the Secret Service. The fresh firing incident took place around 2 months after the sensational assassination attempt on Trump at his election rally in Pennsylvania election rally on July 13, when a bullet grazed his ear.
Meanwhile, Trump’s son took to X, to express his suspicion calling the firing incident as another assassination bid. He wrote, “Again folks! SHOTS FIRED at Trump Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida. An AK-47 was discovered in the bushes, per local law enforcement. The Trump campaign has released a statement confirming former President Trump is safe.”
“A suspect has reportedly been apprehended,” he confirmed.
Further details regarding the firing incident are being awaited.
