Washington: The Secret Service on Sunday said Trump was safe after a reported shooting in Florida, and the agency was investigating the incident. Donald Trump was moved to safety by the Secret Service after agents fired on a man who was seen with what might have been a gun.
The incident occurred while Trump was at the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach. It is not yet clear if the reported shots were aimed at the Republican presidential nominee.
The US Secret Service stated that it is investigating the incident, which occurred shortly before 2 pm. “The former president is safe,” the Secret Service confirmed.
About two months ago, Trump survived an assassination attempt during a rally in Pennsylvania, where a bullet grazed his ear.
This weekend, Trump had returned to Florida after a West Coast trip that included a Friday night rally in Las Vegas and a fundraiser in Utah.
The campaign has not provided additional details yet. No injuries have been reported, according to a spokesperson for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in Florida.
Secret Service Investigates Gunfire Near Trump’s Location
According to law enforcement sources, the Secret Service identified a suspicious person on the course and fired when they saw what looked like the barrel of a gun.

An agent responded by firing multiple shots. Trump’s spokesman, Steven Cheung, confirmed on Sunday that Trump is safe but offered no additional details. The suspect was later arrested by local police on I-95.
This incident followed the July 13 attack on Trump in Butler, Pa., where he was shot in the ear by Thomas Matthew Crooks.
Senator Lindsey Graham praised Trump’s resilience, stating, “Just spoke with President Trump. He was one of the strongest people I’ve ever known. He was in good spirits and more determined than ever to help our country.”
Golf Course Incident Under Investigation
The golf course was about five miles inland from Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s “Winter White House.” The Secret Service, facing criticism for its handling of the July incident, reported a “protective incident” involving Trump shortly before 2 p.m. and was working with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office on the investigation.
