New Delhi: Out of favour India Test batter Ajinkya Rahane struck a half-century on debut for Leicestershire in the One Day Cup.
The stylish right hander made 71 runs for the reigning champions as they posted 369-6 against Nottinghamshire.
He had joined Leicestershire for the second half of the English domestic season, and will feature for the entire duration of their One-Day Cup campaign and five County Championship.
Rahane last played Test matched for India in their tour of West Indies and had earlier turned out for Hampshire in the English domestic circuit in 2019.
He came into bat at 174-2 in the 27th over on Thursday and reached his half century in 38 balls, with a drive to deep extra cover.

He was dismissed in the 48th over of Leicestershire’s innings after makin 71 off 60 balls before getting caught at long on off Lyndon James.

Leicester won the rain-affected match by 15 runs via the D/L method after Notcould reach 89/6 in 14 overs.
