New Delhi: The Indian cricket team continued their dominance against Bangladesh, thumping them by seven wickets in the first T20I of the three-match series at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior on Sunday. The hosts have taken a 1-0 lead after the bowlers first shone with their masterclass, leaving the visitors in tatters and the momentum shifted to batters who looked in a hurry to finish things off with 49 balls still in hand.
It was a purely lopsided clash where Najmul Hossain Shanto’s “new-look Bangladesh” looked haywire in front of Tean India who asserted the home dominance from all the areas possible. The likes of Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakravarthy, and the batters breathed fire at the newly built stadium in Gwalior. While the pacers hit the timbers, the batters went hammer and tongs against the Bangla Tigers.

Strolling past BAN, a clinical win!
The hosts had won the toss and invited the guests to bat first who looked totally out of shape, getting g restricted to 127 in 19.5 overs, courtesy of the Indian bowlers who ran riot on the pitch. Coming out to chase the target, it was expected to be a piece of cake for India which ultimately turned out to be the case. The Indian openers Sanju Samson (29 off 19; 6 fours) and Abhishek Sharma (16 off 7; 2 fours and a six) delivered a flying start to the team, adding a quick 25 for the first wicket.
After Abhishek’s departure, skipper Suryakumar Yadav strode out to bat and it all looked like a dream when he batted with a strike rate of over 200. Scoring 29 of 144 balls with the help of two fours and three sixes, Surya added 40 runs with Samson for the second wicket. However, he had to depart soon and it was time for the debutant Nitish Reddy to come to the crease. He played his part well in providing the support, scoring 16 runs off 15 balls with the help of a six.
With his senior Hardik Pandya, he made a 52-run stand for the fourth wicket and saw the flamboyant allrounder seal things off for India from the other end. Pandya looked in monstrous form as he hit an unbeaten 39-run knock off just 16 deliveries laced with five fours and two sixes. His inning included some of the not-so-often-seen shots as he took Bangladesh bowlers to the cleaners and India past the finishing line. India put 132/3 on the scoreboard in just 11.5 overs, bagging the game with 49 balls to spare.
