New Delhi: Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding ceremony was held on July 12 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The star-studded event featured a host of international celebrities, including Kim and Khloe Kardashian, John Cena, Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas, Rajinikanth, Mahesh Babu, Yash, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan, Vicky Kaushal, Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, and Deepika Padukone, among others.
This lavish affair celebrated Indian culture, spirituality, and tradition on an unparalleled scale. The wedding decor theme, ‘An Ode to Varanasi,’ honoured the timeless city by showcasing its traditions, culture, arts, crafts, and Banarasi cuisine. The food menu was an lavish spread of Indian and international cuisines.
From chaat to chai, it featured culinary delights inspired by one of the world’s oldest living cities. Guests savoured sweets, paan, mukhwas, kharik from Ahmedabad, chaat counters, malai toast and chai, lassi, and lemon tea, highlighting Mumbai’s rich and diverse food culture. In a remarkable move, the Ambanis enlisted one of the world’s top chefs from Peru, Virgilio Martinez, whose restaurant ‘Central’ ranked number one in 2023. Martinez designed an entirely vegetarian menu for the Gujarati wedding.

Also, the wedding featured a chaat stall from the famous Kashi Chaat Bhandaar in Varanasi, offering tikki, tomato chaat, palak chaat, chana kachori, and kulfi. Rakesh Keshari, the owner, told ANI that Nita Ambani visited their chaat stall on June 24. She tried tikki chaat, tomato chaat, palak chaat, and kulfi falooda, and really enjoyed them. She complimented the famous Banaras chaat and was pleased with their service. The celebrations continued with ‘Shubh Ashirwad’ on July 13 and ‘Mangal Utsav,’ or the wedding reception, on July 14.
