New Delhi: Star India batter Shubman Gill recently featured in a brand commercial with Indian film actress Ananya Panday and the pictures of the two celebrities instantly went viral on the internet. Gill and Panday have become the brand ambassadors for American consumer audio products manufacturer Beats by Dre in India and starred in an advertisement using their headphones and earphones.
As soon as the picture of Gill alongside Panday was posted on social media, the brand was for once sidelined as the Indian fans took note of the unexpected combination of Bollywood with Indian cricket. The post was overflowing with comments with major highlighting the two as a potential couple. Some even commented that the two are already dating each other and that is one of the reasons they are doing this commercial together.
For those unversed, a country like India thrives on its film industry and cricket as the celebrities get their respective fandoms and immense following for the work they do. But all of it certainly comes at a cost as vile rumours run rife on social media which tend to tarnish the celebrities’ image. Tackling all those speculations, Ananya recently set the record straight.
In an interview with Filmygyan, she was informed about a comment on the same post which read, “Yaad hai na Virat aur Anushka bhi aise hi mile the (Remember that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma had met like this?). The comment was a reference to the first meeting of Virat and Anushka on an ad shoot which kicked off their romance. Ananya chuckled hearing this and said, “It was nice for Virat and Anushka.”
When the host asked her if she ever thought of dating a cricketer, Ananya simply said, “No”.
