Another Telugu migrant stranded in Gulf, pleads for help in video

A Telugu migrant worker from Konaseema, Andhra Pradesh, identified as Veerendra Kumar, found himself isolated in a desert in Saudi Arabia after being deceitfully taken to the Gulf country to work as a camel herder. He was promised a job in Qatar, he said in a video pleading for help.

“An agent told me that he would take me to Qatar and he brought me to Qatar and from there he brought me to Saudi Arabia. I came to Qatar on July 10 and to Saudi the enxt day on July 11 evening. He left me in a desert in Saudi and since then my health has not been good. I have been vomiting blood. I have given 1.7 lakh rupees to the agent for visa by borrowing the money.”

In the emotional plea, he further said that he was not provided with enough food or water and there is just desert all around him and he is unable to survive.

Kumar recorded a video and put it on social media, urging concerned authorities to help him and rescue him from the grim situation.

AP Minister Nara Lokesh, who noticed the plea for help, promised that they would bring him home safely and asked him not to worry.

This comes just days after another man from AP, Siva Aiveta was rescued from Kuwait by Indian Embassy officials in the Gulf country and was sent back to his hometown in Andhra Pradesh. He faced a similar situation, where he was left alone in a desert without enough food and other essentials.

It also highlights the issue of fraudulent job offers which lure vulnerable people from rural areas and push them into harsh conditions in a foreign country.

In the video, the man Veerendra Kumar pleaded with authorities to help him and rescue him from the harsh conditions of Saudi Arabia.  Andhra Pradesh States News India: Top News India, States News, States News Headlines, Online State News India, State Politics news
