New Delhi: Federico Chiesa has been a part of the Juventus squad for a while now. After spending four seasons at the Bianconeri, the Italian winger’s future is uncertain as new head coach Thiago Motta has confirmed that Chiesa won’t be a part of his plans for next season.
Chiesa joined the ‘Old Lady’ as a replacement for one of their own, Paulo Dybala, and he was ready to set the stage on fire after having some consistent seasons with Fiorentina. Initially, Chiesa was signed on loan by Juventus, and as he started to perform for them, he was signed on a permanent basis.
The 26-year-old forward has been one of their top performers and has played alongside some of the top attackers including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala, Alvaro Morata and Dusan Vlahovic. Chiesa has had a few decent campaigns for Juventus where he made his presence felt and during the course of his four seasons, he won the Italian cup twice and also won the Italian super in the 2020-21 season.
The Italian had a decent 2023-24 season where he appeared in 33 league matches, scoring nine times for the Bianconeri. Despite his efforts, Thiago Motta has decided not to include him in his future plans as Juve are willing to sell Chiesa for €25 million. This was an alarming announcement made by Juventus as the price tag doesn’t justify the player’s profile as he still can be a regular starter for a top European club.
What next for Juve and Chiesa?
However, top clubs will be looking to make the most out of this, as the the German Giants Bayern Munich and Italian rival Roma are both keeping a closer look at Chiesa’s situation. Juve have recently been looking to replace Chiesa and bring a winger into the squad after their plans for Koopemeiners.
Chiesa’s market value during Euro 2020 went up till €70 million, which makes this new price tag look even more less for the Italian. Since then, his performances have certainly taken a dip, but even after that, he had a pretty decent 2023-24 season with Juve. The Italian has had his moments of brilliance for the Bianconeri, but this might be his time to move on and work on his next plan.
This certainly looks like a desperate call from Juve’s end where a player of Chiesa’s calibre is being offered for just €25 million. With some other big clubs interested in buying the player, it is certain that the Italian is in the verge of leacing the Bianconeri after spending four seasons at the club. With Juventus targeting a few wingers, and few of their targets include the former Manchester United player Mason Greenwood who had a very good season with Laliga side Getafe and Chelsea right winger Noni Madueke.
Juventus plan to sell their Italian winger, Federico Chiesa for an extremely low price. Is it something that Juventus might regret later? Or will it allow them to but a new winger? Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
