New Delhi: Goa fast bowler Arjun Tendulkar was in great form during the Dr (Capt( K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament, which is profoundly known as the KSCA Invitational match by the Karnataka State Cricket Association in Alur.

It can also be considered as the warm-up match for the state teams  ahead of the long domestic season, including the grueling Ranji Trophy.

Arjun Tendulkar, who moved from Mumbai to Goa a couple of years ago, bowled a match-winning spell of nine wickets. He mustered figures of 9 for 87 from 26.3 overs across two innings. The KSCA XI mostly consisted of players from U-19 and U-23 players with the likes of Nikin Jose and wicketkeeper-batter Sharath Srinivas having played 17 and 20 first-class matches before this.

The Karnataka team was bowled out for a paltry 103 in just 36.5 overs as Tendulkar claimed a fifer (5 for 41) after bowling 13 overs.

Goa posted a massive lead of 310 runs in the first innings riding on the ton of Abhinav Tejrana and the vital 69 from Manthan Khutkar.

Arjun added four more wickets in the second innings to record his best spell, though these numbers won’t be considered in the first-class format as they are unofficial matches. KSCA XI were bowled out for 121 as Goa won by an innings and 189 runs.

How many wickets has Arjun Tendulkar picked?

Arjun, the left-arm quick, has played 13 first-class matches since making his Ranji Trophy debut for Goa in December 2022. He has picked up 21 wickets in 13 matches at an average of 45.19.

Arjun, who will turn 25 next week, has so far played 49 competitive games across three formats at senior level and picked 68 wickets. He has also played for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The youngster made his debut in IPL 2023 and played four matches that season.

He claimed his first wicket in the name of Bhuvneshwar Kumar during Mumbai’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Arjun has played only five IPL games and returned with three dismissals in total.
