Chennai: In the wake of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Tamil Nadu president K Armstrong’s brutal murder, Tamil film Director and Dalit activist Pa Ranjith posed a series of questions to the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government seeking answers for their failure to protect Dalit leaders and Dalit people.
Pa Ranjith known for directing Superstar Rajinikanth starrer films like Kaala and Kabali, posted a series of questions to the DMK government on his X page. With such brutal murder taking place very close to Sempiyam Police Station in Chennai, we can understand the killers have no fear about law and order in Tamil Nadu. So, what action plan are you going to create to restore law and order and prevent such an incident from happening again?, Ranjith asked.

The Tamil film Director accused the state police are only interested in closing the case based on what the surrenderers said. “Based on the confessions given by the surrendered accused who confessed to the murder, the police have also announced that they did this to avenge the murder of Suresh in Arcot. But the question is, Who planned this? Who directed them? Has the police department concluded that there is no other background for this? What is the police’s position regarding Arudra being behind this? Why are you so indifferent to allowing yourself to browse so many news stories that you don’t know what is true and what is false?”
Pa Ranjith further asked “When is the government going to address the recent threat to Dalit people and Dalit leaders? How is it going to ensure their safety? If this government has created an environment where it is very easy to kill the great leader who was the bulwark of the Dalit people in the capital, then there is fear when we think of other rural towns in Tamil Nadu.”
He also slammed the DMK government that it was deliberately prevented from burying Armstrong’s body in Perambur. ” Do you really care about Dalit people and Dalit leaders? Dalit votes were the most important reason for the DMK government to come to power. Aren’t you aware that Dalits are the biggest supporters of your regime or do you simply not care? I also cast my vote to put you in power. It is with that in mind that I pose these questions. Is social justice just for votes?” he asked the Stalin government in the fallout of BSP leader Armstrong.
