Chennai: The CCTV footage of Tamil Nadu state Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president K Armstrong’s murderers escaping from the spot has been out. In the video, it can be seen that the assailants fled from the spot in two-wheelers after murdering Armstrong at his house in Sembium in the city around 7.30 pm on Friday.
Meanwhile, Police had secured 8 persons including a history sheeter Ponnai Balu in BSP state president Armstrong’s murder. Balu is the younger brother of Arcot Suresh, an A-category rowdy, who was hacked to death on August 18, 2023. The murder episode links to the Aarudhra Gold Trading scam.
According to initial reports, Armstrong interfered and managed to get a portion of the deposit amount to a few depositors which irked Arcot Suresh, who was in favor of Aarudhra management. Meanwhile, Suresh was murdered. Balu believed that Armstrong would have hands in his brother’s murder and his team had threatened Armstrong and was shadowing him for the past few months.
The BSP supporter in Chennai protested at the Chennai Rajiv Gandhi government hospital where mortal remains of Armstrong kept. They demand immediate arrest of the culprits.
