New Delhi: The unfortunate scenes that unfolded after the Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the IPL 2025 title on Tuesday certainly spoiled their historic maiden triumph. It was Tuesday, June 3 when RCB earned their maiden title by beating Punjab Kings by 6 runs and the golden moments were ruined on Wednesday when 11 people lost their lives during the team’s celebration at the M. Chinaswamy stadium.
While the celebrations were going on inside the stadium, people, who had gathered in lakhs outside on the streets became victims of an unfortunate stampede, that apart from taking some precious lives also left more than 50 people injured. The chaotic scenes not only harmed the human lives but also put a bad mark on the franchise who was in a celebratory mood, cheering and laughing as they were felicitated for their landmark victory.
While we leave it up to the authorities to decide as to who the actual culprit was but the entire debate revolves around one thing which is – was it RCB’s mistake? After achieving a milestone, there’s no harm in celebrating it which clearly raises a question at the organisers and the people behind who were responsible for the chaotic scenes.

Earlier, RCB and Kohli individually as well took to social media to express their pain and anguish over the unfortunate incident with the RCB announcing a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each for the families of the victims. Kohli, meanwhile, flew back to Mumbai with wife Anushka Sharma on Thursday as the couple was spotted at the Mumbai airport.
