New Delhi: Now that he has won Pakistan’s maiden individual Olympic gold at Paris 2024, rewards are flowing for javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem.

Nadeem set an Olympic record of 92.97m to beat defending champion Neeraj Chopra and win gold at men’s javelin.

It was not only Pakistan’s first individual gold medal in track and field at Olympics but was also the country’s first medal since Barcelona Games in 1992.

It was Pakistan’s first gold medal after 40 years since the men’s hockey team won at Los Angeles 1984.

After returning to his home at Mian Channu, in the Punjab province of Pakistan, he was been inundated with congratulatory messages and perks.

Adding to the list is Punjab province’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who gifted him 10 million Pakistani rupees (Rs 30,14,000 approximately) and a car on behalf of the government.
