New Delhi: The Indian women’s team are currently locking horns with Australia in the third and final ODI of the three-match series between the two sides at the WACA in Perth. India are searching for their first victory in the series after Australia sealed the three-match rubber with an unassailable 2-0 lead after bagging back-to-back victories in the first two ODIs.
India won the toss and opted to bowl first in the third ODI on Wednesday and had to toil hard for their first wicket. It was pacer Arundhati Reddy, who drew the first blood for the Indian women’s team by cleaning up Australian opener Georgia Voll with a peach of a delivery. Reddy bowled a superb delivery that ripped through Voll’s defence to rattle her stumps.
The dismissal took place in the 11th over of Australia’s innings when the two openers – Voll and Phoebe Litchfield were going strong having added a 58-run stand for the first wicket. Arundhati bamboozled Voll on the very first delivery of the over. She pitched the ball around the off stump and it nipped back in to knock over Volls’ stumps.

The breakthrough came at a crucial moment for India as the partnership between Litchfield and Voll was growing and the duo had settled well in the middle. Voll was clean-bowled after scoring 26 off 29 balls, marking an end to her opening partnership with Litchfield.
Arundhati Reddy completes 4-wicket haul in 3rd ODI
There was no stopping Arundhati after she dismissed Voll to open her account as she went on to wreak havoc on the Australian batting line-up with a four-wicket haul. She sent Litchfield packing on 25 in the same over before dismissing Elysse Perry (4) and Beth Mooney (10) in quick succession to reduce Australia to tatters in a matter of a few overs.
