New Delhi: Fiery West Indies batter Kieron Pollard etched his name in the history books on Thursday after he became only the second player after Chris Gayle to smash 900 or more sixes in the history of T20 cricket. He achieved this massive milestone after playing a quick-fire cameo for MI Emirates in their ongoing ILT20 contest against Desert Vipers.
Coming to bat at number 6, Pollard smashed three massive maximums, contributing 36 runs to the team’s total and completing the unreal record of 900 T20 sixes. After opting to bat first, MI Emirates started on a solid note, with Kusal Perera and Muhammad Waseem adding valuable 48 runs for the opening wicket. However, the Vipers made an incredible comeback, striking wickets at regular intervals.

Pollard, who is known for his ability to perform under pressure, proved his mettle for the side as he helped MI complete a good total with a blistering cameo. The power-hitter smashed Wanindu Hasaranga, hitting him for a big six over the mid wicket and dispatched another one off Lockie Ferguson over the long-on boundary.
