New Delhi: We have often heard and seen sportspersons changing their clothes during a game and especially in a sport like tennis, this is a regular feature. But have you ever heard a tennis player changing his shirt 65 times during game? Yes, you read it right. Italian tennis player Matteo Arnaldi has revealed that he changed shirt 65 times during his Delray Beach Open contest, which made the tight contest even more dramatic.

Number four seed Arnaldi, who claimed a marathon victory over American teenager Learner Tien in the round of 16 match and needed almost three hours to win, revealed that the conditions were so brutal and sweaty that he was forced to change his shirt multiple times. As he was one of the top seeds in the tournament, he received a bye directly into the second round and but was made to work very hard during his first match.

As per a report in Express.co.uk, the Italian tennis player explained that how tough was it to win the match. He said that he showcased what he was capable of and is elated to have started the new year on a high with a hard-fought victory. Talking about the conditions, the tennis player said that the conditions were very tough and he was sweating like anything which forced him to change 65 t-shirts.

Meanwhile, the Italian came up against the 19-year-old who had announced himself at the first Grand Slam of the season – the Australian Open after he beat Daniil Medvedev. Already with a win in his kitty in the Delray Beach Open, he pushed his Italian opponent against the wall testing his skills to the fullest. But the fourth seed player jumped back into the contest with 4-1 double break lead in the first set before Tien came up and drew level.

Arnaldi somehow managed to take it into a tiebreak and kept himself alive in the game before notching up a 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 victory. It was nearly in three hours that the win was attained by the player.
