What are the ATP Finals?
The ATP Finals is the prestigious season-ending championship of the ATP Tour, held at the conclusion of each season to showcase the best players in men’s tennis. It is considered the most important event on the men’s tennis calendar after the four Grand Slam tournaments.
The competition features the top eight singles players and the top eight doubles teams based on their performance throughout the year. If required, the eighth spot can be allocated to a player or team who has won a major tournament that season, even if they are ranked between ninth and twentieth.
Format
The Nitto ATP Finals follows a round-robin format with eight players/doubles partnerships being divided into two groups of four. The top two from each group will advance to the semi-finals followed by the final.
