AUS vs IND: Ravindra Jadeja confident of India securing BGT hat-trick in Australia

New Delhi: The five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy is levelled at 1-1 after the third Test match ended in a draw at The Gabba in Brisbane. A lot of drama has already unfolded in the highly anticipated Australia vs India Test series. India won the first Test by 295 runs at the Optus Stadium in Perth, with stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah leading the team from the front.

But Australia made a brilliant comeback in the match and won the second pink-ball Test by 10 wickets at the Adelaide Oval. In the third Test, Australia dominated the first two days of the match. The Aussies batted first and scored 445 runs in the first innings. Travis Head and Steve Smith notched up brilliant centuries. Pat Cummins and Co. were favourites to win the Test match but rain interruptions and a crucial last wicket partnership between Bumrah and Akash Deep helped India to draw the match.

‘Focus is on the Boxing Day Test. It’s a crucial game for us’: Jadeja

Speaking at the press conference ahead of the fourth Test, Jadeja said that the series is still 1-1 and if we manage to win one match out of the next two then we will retain the series.

“It’s a good opportunity to push ourselves and do well in Melbourne. Yes, we will worry about the last match later, the focus now is on the Boxing Day Test. It’s a crucial game for us,” Jadeja said in the press conference.

Both teams will look to win the fourth Test, which is set to begin at the MCG on December 26. The Boxing Day Test will decide the series winner and can also play an important role in deciding the team’s path to the World Test Championship (WTC) Final. South Africa is currently in the first position on the WTC points table and Australia is in second position. Team India slipped to third spot after losing the Adelaide Test.

India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is confident of completing the hat-trick of Test series victories in Australia after the Brisbane Test ended in a draw.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
