New Delhi: India and Australia are all set to lock horns in a blockbuster Test series starting Down Under in November. The prestigious Border-Gavaskar will see the two teams locking horns in a five-Test series for the first time since the 1991-92 season. The long-awaited series will begin on November 26 in Perth as the Aussies look to reclaim the Border-Gavaskar Trophy from the visitors, who have won the series on the previous two occasions.
While the series is still two months away, the chatter surrounding the series has already started with both sets of players making comments and remarks. Recently, a video of Australian cricketers picking their favourite next-gen Indian superstar was shared on social media.
The video shows Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Travis Head, Cameron Green, Alex Carey and Josh Hazlewood picking India’s future superstars. While Travis Head and Cameron Green picked Shubman Gill, the rest of the players chose Yashavi Jaiswal as their pick for India’s next superstar.

Jaiswal’s sensational beginning to life in Test cricket
Jaiswal has started his Test career on a magnificent note, scoring 1,028 runs in nine Tests at an average of 69 including three centuries and four half-centuries. The explosive left-handed opener, Jaiswal gained massive attention after scoring double centuries in two consecutive test matches against England in a 5-match home series earlier this year. Unlike Gill, who played on India’s previous tour to Australia, Jaiswal will be playing Down Under for the first time.
Gill also has enjoyed a decent start to his Test career, scoring 1492 runs in 25 Tests with the help of 4 centuries and six fifties at an average of 35.52. He scored 259 runs in his debut series Down Under in 2020-21 but could only score 838 runs in the next 34 innings.
He bounced back brilliantly with a superb century against England in the second innings of the second Test at Vizag.
Before the Australia tour, India will face Bangladesh in a two-Test series starting in Chennai on September 19 followed by a three-Test affair against New Zealand at home.
