New Delhi: News9’s Indian Tigers and Tigresses football hunt is giving flight to the dreams of several talented young footballers from around the country. Trials were conducted across the nation and 32 talented young footballers who aced the selection process will soon be on the flight to Austria to train with Europe’s best and learn from some of the finest coaches in the world.
The Indian Tigers and Tigress football talent hunt saw thousands of kids turn up for trials in their respective cities and showcase their skills to get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to Austria to pursue their footballing dream. However, only 32 made the final cut and will now get a chance to develop their skills and become future stars of Indian football.
15-year-old Priya, a talented forward is among those selected for the dream trip. Hailing from Alakhpura village in Haryana’s Bhiwani which is also known as India’s ‘Mini Brazil’, Priya found her calling for football at a young age. With her unwavering determination to pursue the sport and constant encouragement from her parents, she soon started flourishing in the sport.
Football is nothing new for the girls of Alakhpura, a village that has produced several talented female players, who have gone on to represent the state and the country at the junior, sub-junior and senior levels. Priya is among the next-gen of talents from the hub of women’s football in Alakhpura, ready to take the next step in her journey with News9’s Indian Tigers and Tigress campaign.
Priya, who trains at the all-women Alakhpura FC, learnt the tricks and trades of the game from the coaches at the club and further refined her game to emerge as a promising youngster. Her hard work and determination paid off when she was one of the 32 kids to ace the trails at News9’s Indian Tigers and Tigresses campaign.
A skilled striker, who has a hunger for goals, Priya will now be travelling to Austria along with some of the most promising talented young footballers from India. She will get a chance to play alongside some of the most promising young footballers and train from the best coaches which will provide her with invaluable exposure, opening doors to a future in the sport she loves.
Her parents, who have played a crucial role in her journey as a footballer so far, hope much bigger and better things await their daughter, who is ready to take on the world after tasting success in the Indian Tigers and Tigresses campaign.
