New Delhi: Pakistan captain Babar Azam is considered as one of the greatest modern-day batters alongside star Indian duo Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The Asian icons have mesmerised the cricketing world with some exceptional batting displays over the past decade and all three have massive fan bases. Choosing the best of the lot is a difficult ask.
Kohli’s consistency and charisma, Rohit’s lazy elegance and captaincy record and Babar’s class and calmness have left the fans divided across the globe. Of course, the Indian fans lean towards Rohit and Kohli, and Pakistani fans rate Babar higher than the others. But who does Babar rate as the best batter he has played against?
Babar recently featured on De Villiers’ official YouTube channel for an interaction. The Pakistan legend was asked about his pick for the best batter he has played against and surprisingly it was neither Kohli nor Rohit. When De Villiers asked Babar to choose between the best, he was quick to pick the Proteas superstar over any active cricketer. De Villiers was left stunned by the answer and asked Babar to choose someone else but the right-handed batter said that his answer remains the same.
