New Delhi: Babar Azam can’t do anything right at the moment. The star batter’s lean patch extended to another innings on Monday in the ongoing Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Babar was dismissed for just 11 runs on the fourth day of the second Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The former PAK skipper failed to rescue his team from a precarious position on a crucial day of the evenly poised Test match. Coming into bat after a top-order collapse, that saw the hosts slump to 47 for 3, Babar yet again got off to a start but soon after reaching the double figures he was dismissed by pacer Nahid Rana for 11.
Babar’s lean patch extended to 17 innings. During this period, he has failed to touch the 50-run mark.
Babar’s dismissal put Pakistan in a worrying situation. If the hosts fail to post a big total in the second essay, there is a huge chance of Bangladesh winning the second Test.

Bangladesh in a great position
Riding on a sensational century by Litton Das, who took his team from 26/5 to 262, Bangladesh staged a superb fightback on Day 3 to peg back the Pakistanis. With a paltry lead of 12 runs, the home side then crumbled on Day 4 to hand the initiative to Bangladesh who could be chasing a total well below 200 barring a lower-order fightback from Pakistan.
