Kolkata: Many people still have to visit branches of banks for getting their work done despite the wide network of ATMs and banking through app/online. Therefore, one has to know whether banks are closed on a particular Saturday. Bank holidays determined by banking regulator Reserve Bank of India. It states that banks across the country should remain closed for business every month on two Saturdays. They will also be closed on all Sundays.
No customer of any bank can enter any branch to get their work done on these two Saturdays which are declared a holiday by RBI. These are the second and fourth Saturday of any month. But February 15, 2025 is the third Saturday of this month and therefore, banks will be open for physical business.

February 15: Saturday–Lui-Ngai-Ni (Manipur)
February 19: Wednesday–Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanti (Maharashtra)
February 20: Thursday–Arunachal Pradesh statehood day/Mizoram statehood day (Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram)
February 26: Wednesday–Shivaratri (National except A&N Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Goa, Lakshadweep, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Puducherry, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal)
February 28: Friday–Losar (Sikkim)
But technology has no holiday. Therefore, the ATM network and all online banking services are open on all days all around the year. Any customer can get those work done which can be performed online.
Reserve Bank of India rules stipulate that banks will be closed on two Saturdays a month. Today February 15 will not be a banking holiday since it is the third Saturday of February.
