New Delhi: FC Barcelona celebrated an impressive milestone in a 3-1 victory over Espanyol in the Catalan Derby, bringing their season goal tally to 50 goals. Barca achieved the milestone in just 15 games, a feat even the legendary trio Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar Jr could not accomplish in their time at the club.

In La Liga, Barca has scored a total of 40 goals marking one of the most productive starts in the club’s history. The only better record than this dates back to the 1950-51 season when the team scored more goals in the first 12 league games but this season Flick’s side has been just as prolific as they have scored scoring two or more goals in nearly every match.

Barca’s high-scoring run includes dominant La Liga victories over Valladolid (7-0), Girona (4-1), Villarreal (5-1), Alaves (3-0), Sevilla (5-1), Real Madrid (4-1), and Espanyol (3-1).

In the Champions League, they have added 10 more goals, averaging three per match with standout wins over Young Boys (5-0) and Bayern Munich (4-1). Even in a narrow 2-1 loss to Monaco they still managed to get on the scoresheet. With nine different goalscorers contributing reaching 50 goals in 15 games marks an improvement over their previous best record in 2016-17 where it took them 17 games to hit the same tally.

Barcelona reaches new scoring heights under Hansi Flick, surpassing the legendary Messi-Suarez-Neymar era with standout performances from Lewandowski and rising stars.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
