New Delhi: Realising your childhood dream at an early age is quite a tough task but with News9’s Indian Tigers and Tigresses initiative, a lot of young Indian boys and girls have got an opportunity to make it big in life. The one-of-a-kind initiative of TV9 Network has given a chance to as many as 28 talented Indian footballers to live their dreams and train in Austria under the best European coaches.

A nationwide football scouting event, which began with attracting as many as 50,000 registrations, has reached the final stage after a series of rigorous trials which took part in different states of India like Delhi, West Bengal, Karnataka among others. From north to the south and east to the went, youngsters in the age group of 12-14 and 15-17 were shortlisted from every nook and corner of the country and subjected to tough trials which finally led to the selection of 28 kids.

From a staggering registration number of 50,000, the initiative was pruned t0 10,000 (7,000 boys, 3,000 girls) out of which just handful made it to the finals. As per the initiative, the final 28 would be travelling to Austria for further football training with a hope to represent India at the international level some day.

Kevin Peter – Karnataka boy with a big dream

Like many other kids in the shortlist, talented Kevin Peter from Bengaluru would chase hos football dream in Austria as part of the initiative. Kevin is not just chasing his dream but living it everyday with his skills, determination and constant hard work. For the young boy, football is merely not a sport but a battle which he has to win and now with a ticket to Austria, he’s trying harder to get the best of everything.

Kevin realises that he has got an opportunity of a lifetime and this is the perfect stage for him to take his game to the next level. His speed, skills, and control over the ball is clearly reflected with his on-field moments while he plays football. But behind this young footballer are some big sacrifices made by his parents and they mean everything to him.

Kevin, along with other lucky kids, got an opportunity to meet PM Narendra Modi at TV9′ s Global Summit, WITT 2025 in New Delhi on Friday. PM Modi not only lauded their efforts but also blessed them for their future endeavours. Kevin will be taking part in the football training in Austria, carrying his city’s pride on his shoulders with an aim to represent India in future.
