New Delhi: It was not the best of the starts to the opening day of the first Test match between India and New Zealand at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday morning. Rain threat, which loomed over the city on Tuesday, came to haunt the game the next morning, resulting in an indefinite delay in the toss. While it was pouring heavily early in the morning and the rain stopped after sometime but a while, it again came back acting as a spoilsport.
India, who are high on confidence after a Test and T20I series sweep over Bangladesh, would be hoping to replicate the same in the home series against the Kiwis. Meanwhile, fans would be hoping to see the live action as soon as possible while the players from both the sides would be equally eager to hit on to the field. The weather forecast on Tuesday suggested a complete washout on the opening day of the first Test match but can we expect a game to take place on Wednesday?
What does the weather say?
While we all pray that the showers do not last long in Bengaluru and we get to see a full first day of the Test match, the weather report also favours us to a certain extent. The updated weather report for Bengaluru predicts that showers can hamper the proceedings in the game on Wednesday but a complete washout does not look on the cards.
There will be brief spells of rain during the day in the city but there will also be breaks in between during which the game can take place. A shortened game is definitely what we should expect but there are good chances for the fans to witness some action.
