New Delhi: There was one premium UFC event in November as UFC 309 and three UFC Fight Night events in November. Many memorable fights were seen this month but we will see the top 3 fights of the month.
The best fight of the month will be none other than Charles Oliveira vs Michael Chandler’s fight in UFC 309 at the Madison Square Garden on November 17, Sunday. Chandler was making his return to the octagon after two years.
The fight was the number one contender fight for the UFC Lightweight championship. Oliveira was coming with a loss against Arman Tsarukyan. Chandler and Oliveira started the fight on a cautious note but Chandler threw some fiery punches in the first round.
Oliveira was defending well in the fight and landed some nasty leg kicks to Chandler. Oliveira put some pressure on Chandler by hitting combinations to him in the first two rounds.
Oliveira won the first four rounds comfortably and fans were thinking he’ll win the fight easily. But in the last round, Chandler attacked him with a front kick and then landed a clean right hook which hurt Oliveira and he was down on the ground and Chandler started throwing illegal hammer fists at him but Oliveira survived the fight.
In the last moments of the fight, Oliveira was going for the submission and was on Chandler’s back but Chandler showed his power and lifted Oliveira on his back and slammed him to the ground. Chandler slammed him twice to the ground but failed to win the fight.
Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic
Jon Jones knocks out Stipe Miocic to defend his UFC Heavyweight title. The two veteran heavyweights were facing each other at UFC 309. The fight started with some jabs by Miocic at Jones and Jones was replying to Miocic with front kicks.
Miocic was relying on his boxing but Jones was defending himself well. Jones was dominating the fight and countering Miocic with some heavy punches. Jones caught Miocic with a spinning kick, which hurt Miocic very badly and followed him with some heavy punches to end the fight.
After the fight, Miocic announced his retirement from the UFC and Jones went to met US president Donald Trump.
