New Delhi: Conor McGregor has not stepped into the Octagon for over three years now since his last fight against Dustin Poirier in 2021 but continues to garner the limelight with his off-the-ring antics. While there has been no official word from the Irish superstar on his much-awaited comeback to the UFC, fans continue to wait in anticipation.
McGregor recently teased a potential comeback as he shared a clip of his boxing training. In the video, the double UFC champion can be seen landing blows on a punching bag. However, the response from the fans was not as expected with many pointing out the decline in the 36-year-old’s prowess. While some pointed out McGregor’s reflexes have gone down, others urged him to consider retiring altogether.
“Irish Power,” McGregor captioned the video on his X account. However, his uppercuts and cross punches in the video left many fans questioning his waning power. In the video, the double UFC champion appeared far from his best.
Here’s how fans reacted to Conor McGregor’s training footage:
You are beyond washed. You probably get KOd by Michael chandler that’s why you bailed. https://t.co/BQa5UfrCKd

While his absence from the ring has affected his popularity severely, the opinions on the Irish superstar have gone down ever since he was found liable in a sexual assault case against a woman in Dublin last year. The double UFC champion has since gotten involved in a war of words with Logan Paul while also taking digs at Khabib Nurmagomedov.
He recently sparked another controversy after spitting on the face of a fan, who came up with a chant supporting Khabib in front of him. McGregor was expected to make his comeback against Michael Chandler in the main event at UFC 303 in June last year. However, the match was delayed and postponed forever after the Irish superstar picked up a toe injury weeks before the clash.
McGregor has since remained coy about his future while UFC CEO Dana White has also refused to give much details about his potential return. Speaking at UFC Saudi Arabia earlier this month, White told reporters he is not sure when the Irishman will be back in action in the UFC.
