New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a commemorative note on the 10th anniversary of the launch of the Make in India initiative wrote that “Bharat is unstoppable.” He said this occasion called for a salute to the spirit of every individual who contributed towards the success of Make in India and called them pioneers, visionaries and innovators.
He recalled how the initiative was launched with the dream of increasing “India’s strides in manufacturing.” The initiative was also aimed at forging India into graduating from being just an importer into an exporter.
From Vande Bharat and Brahmos to mobile phones
The PM said he was filled with a sense of pride at how 10 crore Indians had used their strength and skills to bring the country to this moment. He cited the example of mobile manufacturing, the steel industry, semiconductors, renewables and defence to elaborate on how the imprint of Make in India was visible across sectors previously imagined and even those that were beyond imagination.
He stressed the landmarks of India such as Vande Bharat trains and BrahMos missiles to reiterate this point. make in India gave impetus to small industries and pushed the poor to dream big, the PM added.
PLI and Ease of doing business to support Make in India
The Centre is committed to making this sprint stronger with the production-linked incentive scheme providing support to this initiative, said the PM. The ease of doing business also shows significant progress alongside Make in India, he added. He stated that India is a perfect blend of democracy, demography and demand.
PM Modi exhorted Indians to identify that the momentum was in India’s favour and coaxed them to “strive for excellence”. “Delivery quality should be our commitment. Zero defect should be our mantra,” he said.
