Big win for Indian football: Chennaiyin FC defeats Borussia Dortmund at Norwich City

New Delhi: In a huge win for the future of Indian football, Indian Super League outfit Chennaiyin FC produced one of the biggest upsets in their history. The Marina Machans managed to get one over one of the biggest teams in world football as they defeated Borussia Dortmund 4-2 at the Norwich City Mina Cup UK. Not only did they register a win over the German heavyweights, they also managed to beat Bermuda FA twice at the prestigious U12 tournament in England.

The tournament took place over this weekend at Norwich City’s state-of-the-art training facility where the Indian outfit showcased impressive performances. Being the only Indian club to be invited in this tournament, it was already a huge step in the right direction, but coming out with such impressive performances is surely the cherry on top for the Chennai-based club.

Beating Borussia Dortmund is a significant achievement on any given day, but what makes it even sweeter is the fact that the club is known for it’s top-notch academy system which has produced some world class footballers. USA captain Christian Pulisic, current manager Nuri Sahin and club legend Marco Reus are all products of BVB’s world famous academy, so beating such a club holds a lot of substance for Chennaiyin FC.
