Pittsburgh: Hours after a mass shooting incident leading to the death of 1 person and leaving several others injured in Ohio’s Akron, another incident of mass shooting reported at a bar in suburban Pittsburgh in the United States resulted in the death of two people, while seven others sustained severe injuries. The Pittsburgh police confirmed the incident saying that the incident took place on Sunday early morning in Penn Hills, following which the local police at once rushed to the spot and victims were shifted to nearby hospitals.
According to the homicide unit of the Allegheny County Police Department, the homicide unit immediately responded to the call for help by Penn Hills Police Department after the early morning shooting at the Ballers Hookah Lounge and Cigar Bar in Penn Hills.
The police stated that first responders discovered the bodies of an adult male and adult female inside the bar around 3 am on Sunday. Seven additional victims were also found at the spot. They were transported from the scene to various hospitals for treatment.
Allegheny County police said in a statement on social media, one of the victims is in critical condition, while the remaining victims sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.
During the preliminary inquiry, the police found that “an altercation took place inside the bar and multiple individuals opened fire”.
The police have not made any confirmation regarding the arrest of any accused involved in the incident.
Earlier, one person was shot dead and several others were injured as 27 people were shot at a birthday party in Ohio’s Akron in the wee hours of Sunday. The local police are investigating the incident and making efforts to trace the suspect, who is still at large, claimed sources.
According to local reports, multiple hospitals are on lockdown after the shooting incident. The injured are being treated at multiple local hospitals.
