New Delhi: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has disbanded his six-member war cabinet, according to multiple reports citing officials. This move was expected, particularly following the recent exit of centrist former general Benny Gantz.
Netanyahu is now expected to consult on the ongoing Gaza conflict with a more streamlined group of ministers. This group will include Defence Minister Yoav Gallant and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, both of whom were members of the recently dissolved war cabinet, Reuters reported.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s far-right coalition partners have been advocating for the formation of a new war cabinet following the resignation of Benny Gantz from Netanyahu’s emergency government. Gantz was the sole centrist leader in the previous war cabinet.
