New Delhi: Jasprit Bumrah recieved massive praise from former India head coach Greg Chappell ahead of the third Test between India and Australia at the Gabba, Brisbane starting on December 14, Saturday. Bumrah, unsurprisingly, has been the pick of the Indian bowlers in the first two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, snaring 12 wickets in four innings. The fast bowler has established himself as one of the modern-day greats with scintillating performances in all three formats.
Not for the first time, Bumrah will be key to India’s fortunes in the Gabba Test. Ahead of the crucial clash, Bumrah was hailed by Chappell, one of the greatest Australian batters of all time. The ex-India head coach said that Bumrah boasts the qualities of legendary pacers such as Dennis Lillee, Andy Roberts, Richard Hadlee, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Glenn McGrath, Dale Steyn and Kagiso Rabada.
The former Australian captain also said despite embodying the qualities of the iconic fast bowlers, Bumrah has created his own legacy and is an inspiration for future generations of fast bowlers.
