‘Can a 13 year old..’: Ex-Pakistan pacer accuses Vaibhav Suryavanshi of age fraud

New Delhi: India U19 batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi has once again been accused of age fraud as he continues to remain in the limelight for all the wrong reasons. Suryavanshi was part of the Indian team that made it to the final of the recently concluded U19 Asia Cup 2024 where they lost against defending champions Bangladesh to miss out on the title.

While Suryavanshi failed to impress consistently in the tournament, he did manage to turn heads with his stroke-playing abilities at the tender age of 13. The left-handed prodigious batter from Bihar is the youngest to play for the India U-19 team at 13 and recently became the youngest player in IPL history after being brought by Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the IPL 2025 mega auction.

While Suryavanshi was busy playing in the U19 Asia Cup 2024, former Pakistan pacer Junaid Khan took to social media to raise questions regarding his six-hitting abilities at the age of 13. Sharing a video of the Indian batter hitting a monstrous six in India U19’s clash against Sri Lanka, Junaid wondered if a 13-year-old could hit such a long six.

Can a 13-year-old kid really hit such a long six????

Suryavanshi had recently garnered headlines over concerns regarding his age after an old clip of him went viral where he said in an interview that he would be turning 14 in September this year. However, his father had rubbished the claims of age fraud by stating that his son underwent BCCI’s bone test at the age of 8 and also at the time of playing for India U19. His father said Vaibhav is ready to undergo another bone test if required.
