Chelsea interested in Jadon Sancho-Raheem Sterling swap with Manchester United

New Delhi: Chelsea are considering a surprise late move for Jadon Sancho from Manchester United before the summer transfer window closes on Friday. In what would be one of the most remarkable deals of the summer transfer at Stamford Bridge, the Club are hoping United might be interested in a swap deal.

Jadon Sancho has not been part of their first two Premier League matches to date and is likely to leave Old Trafford before the deadline. According to the Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio, Raheem Sterling and Ben Chiwell who will leave Stamford Bridge before the deadline are expected to be included in the operation to convince Man United to accept Chelsea’s offer.

Wages have also been a significant problem with regard to Sancho. Manchester United so far have not received any official approach from Chelsea for the winger. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also provided the most recent information on this scenario late Friday night on his YouTube channel, and it appears Chelsea may have a chance here.

He stated that “Chelsea consider Jadon Sancho an opportunity and could consider a move for him if there’s a possibility to do a swap with Manchester United. Let’s see what happens with Sterling. No proper negotiations at the moment. Priority is outgoings for Chelsea.”

Although United would want to pay about £40 million for Sancho, at this point it looks like the most likely offer is a loan with a purchase commitment. Even then, it’s doubtful that any team will want to pay Sancho’s salary in full, which United will definitely try and insist on.

Talking about Chelsea they are not solely interested in a winger rather they are looking for a striker that’s why the Blues have also revived the talks with Napoli over a loan deal for striker Victor Osimhen. It seems that the terms offered by the Italian club are now more favourable. However, their potential still remains a stumbling block as the salary wanted by the 25-year-old striker is quite high.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin of Everton is the another backup option, but perhaps it would be wiser to recruit no striker at all after registering six-goal victory against Wolves on Sunday.

Manchester United are aware of Chelsea’s interest in Jadon Sancho but are yet to receive an official approach from the Blues.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
